The Aim

The Dynamic Demand Responsive Transport (DDRT) project provided a flexible method of public transport that involved picking up and dropping people off on demand, usually in areas where a regular transport service may not be viable, such as rural areas or areas poorly served by scheduled public transport. It differed from traditional buses which use a fixed route and run to a fixed timetable. Instead, the route could change throughout the day depending on where bookings came from.
