We are proud to be showcasing our Solent Drones for Medical Logistics project at this years’ Farnborough Air Show – the world’s leading airshow.

The show hosts leading innovators from the aerospace, aviation and defence industries and beyond. A particular highlight of the 2024 airshow looks to be the Global Urban & Advanced Air Summit (GUAAS) discussing the rapidly developing Advanced Air Mobility market.

Our drone logistics project manager, Carla Toomer, will be presenting at the show alongside Jenny Ward, Deputy Director for Aviation Safety and Innovation at the Department for Transport, in an exclusive fireside chat discussing The Action Plan: Utilising Unmanned Aircraft to Shape a Sustainable UK Ecosystem”.

The Solent Drones for Medical Logistics Project highlights how drones can revolutionise medical logistics, providing critical medical deliveries to remote or hard to reach parts of the UK. The Solent Drones for Medical Logistics Project is at the forefront of researching how drones can enhance efficiency in medical logistics for the NHS, improving health outcomes and the quality of life for residents.

“The Farnborough Air Show is the perfect platform to showcase our research and trials findings,” said Tim Forrester, Solent Future Transport Zone Programme Manager. “This project not only highlights our commitment to innovation in medical logistics but closely aligns with the Department for Transport’s objectives set out in the Future of Flight Action Plan launched in March this year”.
